My topic was "in the rain". i have mentioned points to remember for choosing a topic in my previous publication, which is the first and most important step in order to execute your art work efficiently and to make it attractive.
Things to remember while making your first supporting study-
1. Try and make it with a lesser variety of colours- no vibrant colours as you can see above in my sheet, I mostly used black and white.
2. Use different mediums and a variety of sheets or materials- this is the most important part of your execution of the artwork because this makes your work stand out and look unique. It also creates a certain importance to your work.
3. Use different types of techniques- This is very essential because this shows your exploration of the topic you have chosen, example- if you look at mine, i have made use of different strokes in order to make the rain effect look more appealing(stippling, hatching, vertical lines etc.)
4. Make thumbnails- these are the small observational studies you have made before making your final artwork and this must be shown on your sheet. These include the different techniques you have used.
5. Take pictures on your own(first hand study)- This is actually fun and mandatory in your process of making an artwork. This will be checked b your examiner of how much you have actually studied on your own.
tip- try to include yourself in these pictures too if its relevant and possible.
6. Make a colour palette- This makes it easy for your examiner to see what are the different colours you have used in your sheet in the form of a pallet, also labelling the colours that you have used will make it more easier to discrete the colours.
